Titans-Vikings Postgame Notes

230819-final

TEAM NOTES

·      With their 24-16 victory at Minnesota, the Titans improved to 1-1 this preseason. The win improved Mike Vrabel's career preseason record to 7-9.

·      The Titans rushed for 281 yards at Minnesota. The total included 98 yards by Julius Chestnut, 91 yards by Malik Willis, 57 yards by Tyjae Spears, 29 yards by Jacques Patrick and six yards by Mason Kinsey. The group collected the most rushing yards by an NFL team in a preseason game since at least the beginning of the 2017 preseason. The highest previous NFL total in that span was 256 rushing yards by the Atlanta Falcons at Jacksonville on Aug. 29, 2019. The Titans' previous high in that span was 181 rushing yards against Chicago on Aug. 28, 2021. In regular season contests in all of franchise history, the Titans have recorded 281 or more rushing yards on only eight occasions.

·      The Titans' final four offensive drives resulted sequentially in a field goal, touchdown, touchdown and a drive that drained the final 5 minutes and 50 seconds off the clock to seal the victory.

·      The offense converted seven of its 13 third-down attempts, a rate of 53.8 percent.

·      The Titans defense limited the Vikings offense to three conversions on 13 third-down attempts, a rate of 23.1 percent. The Titans defense also thwarted the Vikings on a fourth-down attempt on the first series of the game.
