NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** The big day is finally here.
Questions about the Titans new uniforms will be answered tonight during a uniform reveal in downtown Nashville.
Current and former players, as well as other members of the organization, will take part in a ceremony showcasing the new uniforms. Following the unveiling of the new uniforms, country duo Florida Georgia Line will take the stage and perform a concert for fans.
The uniform unveiling is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., but the activities will begin around 6 p.m. on a stage on Broadway by First Avenue, with Nissan Stadium serving as the backdrop. The concert is expected to begin just after 8 p.m.
What will the new digs look like?
"I get asked about it every day," Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk said last week.
"Been asked around a million times," Titans general manager Jon Robinson said.
In recent weeks, the Titans have provided teasers leading up to the big day. Strunk has been a part of the hype, appearing in a recent video with tackle Taylor Lewan, when she joked the uniforms had pink in them.
Strunk has talked about the uniforms, but she's been careful about revealing clues. The Titans are scheduled to unveil their home jerseys, road jerseys and Color Rush jerseys.
And what about the helmet? Will there be a new logo?
"All my friends, whether they're in Nashville or in Houston, think they can get it out of me, and they can't," Strunk said. "They can't. The fun of this is the reveal. I know there's going to be some, "I love them" and some "What was she thinking? I think fans will like them."
So what will stand out?
"You take our name, the Titans, and in Greek mythology they were gods, giant gods," Strunk said. "The thing that Nike started from the beginning was, Titans, it's superiority. So we wanted that feel. It is going to be what you think of a Titan.
"I wouldn't say it's drastic by any means, but I'd say it's pretty big. It's significant."
Robinson also predicted fans "are going to like them."
He's found it humorous that some fans are looking at his wardrobe for hints on the team's new digs.
"They look at what I am wearing, like my hat, and see if I am tipping anything," Robinson said.
With a smile, Strunk did provide one clue.
She said some elements of the uniform are specific to the state of Tennessee. So look out for that tonight.
"Titans fans are going to be proud of what they see," she said. "They are going to kind of honor our great state. … That gives a little bit of something."
In addition to Strunk and Robinson, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel and some of his players are scheduled to take part in tonight's event. Voice of the Titans Mike Keith will serve as the event's emcee.
There will be preshow entertainment before the program begins, and fireworks following the concert. Streets will be blocked in the area for the event, and there will be activities for fans. The event will be free of charge and open to the public.
A pre-event party and a post-event party will be held at FGL House on 3rd Avenue South.
"I want it to be fun," Strunk said. "Everything I do, I always have the fans in mind. To me, it is going to be fun."
