NASHVILLE, Tenn. —Rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota will make his Nissan Stadium debut on Saturday when the team changes practice locations for a day.
After holding the first seven practices at camp at Saint Thomas Sports Park, the Titans will practice at Nissan Stadium. The session will be open to season ticket members.
"It will be the first time practicing on the field,'' Mariota said. "We are excited. It will be a lot of fun."
Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said he'll add a wrinkle to the practice.
"It's a regular practice but we'll do drives, which is staying on the field,'' Whisenhunt said. "A little bit competitive, not anything like tackling or full-go like that. But it's a different environment, we'll see how they handle that."
Titans center Brian Schwenke expects some extra energy after a long stretch to start camp. T-Rac and the Titans cheerleaders will be on hand for the practice, which is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
"It's always kind of fun. It is a good switch-up, and it gets you out of the grind of camp,'' Schwenke said. "You go there and it adds something different so it's a little more fun, a little more game-like situation."
The Titans open the preseason on August 14 at Atlanta.
