NASHVILLE, Tenn. – General manager Ruston Webster said Monday the Titans will meet with Florida State QB Jameis Winston at his pro day in Tallahassee on Tuesday. Webster made the comments on 104.5 The Zone's Midday 180.

"We're going to see Jameis work out and meet with him," Webster said. "We're going to spend some time with him after the workout. That will be very valuable to us."

Webster will be joined by a contingent of Titans coaches and scouts, including head coach Ken Whisenhunt and offensive coordinator Jason Michael, similar to Oregon's Pro Day when they met with QB Marcus Mariota.

"The thing for us that was invaluable with Marcus was the time we were able to spend in the film room with him," Webster said. "We went through their offense, our offense and gathered where he is in terms of his knowledge of the game. It will be a similar situation with Jameis and an important part of the puzzle."

The Titans GM also touched on the acquisition of Brian Orakpo and re-signing of Derrick Morgan.

"I feel like we're better," Webster said. "It was a position where we were starting from scratch this year. From that standpoint I feel like we're better. Brian is a proven commodity and we're really glad to have Derrick back. The position in our defense is too important, and we felt like we had to address it. It gives us flexibility in the draft to take the best player available."

Webster said the Titans have the opportunity to have a more "offensive draft," having filled some defensive holes in free agency. Pro days come to an end on April 9, while pre-draft visits commence this week.

As Webster puts the final touches on his draft board, scouts will convene at Saint Thomas Sports Park for final pre-draft meetings two weeks before the draft. The offensive staff will meet with scouts to go through prospects on their side of the ball with the defensive staff doing the same.

At that point, the draft board will be solidified and the plan for draft day will materialize.

"The biggest thing is that everyone has had their say and that we're on a similar page with the players we like and the fit for what we're going to do with them," Webster added. "It's important that everyone understands the plan and moves forward with it so the player can develop."
