NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans are hosting a football safety clinic for moms at LP Field on Sunday, Aug. 10. The first of its kind event for the Titans is sponsored by Saint Thomas Health and will be hosted by Susie Adams Smith and Amy Adams Hunt, both co-chairmen for the Tennessee Titans.

The interactive free event will include education on proper equipment fitting, concussion awareness, heat and hydration information and a presentation by USA Football about their Heads Up Football program. As a part of the seminar, the moms in attendance will practice proper tackling techniques.

"Amy and I are very proud to host a Mom's Clinic at LP Field,'' Susie Adams Smith said. "As mothers of sons that played high school football, we wanted to reach out to the Nashville community with this initiative to promote safe play on the field at all levels. Amy and I appreciate the need for this type of instruction, and are looking forward to working with our staff to bring awareness to this important facet of the game."

Speakers will feature other "football moms," including Gayle Webster (wife of Titans GM Ruston Webster), Alice Whisenhunt (wife of Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt) and Leigh Anne Tuohy (mother of Titans tackle Michael Oher). Former Titans also will be involved, including Chris Hope, Chris Sanders, Rayna Stewart, Derrick Mason and Dave Ball.

Attendees will include Titans season ticket holders who are mothers of youth football players.
