NASHVILLE, Tenn. —The Titans have agreed to terms with third-round draft pick Zaviar Gooden, the team announced Wednesday.
Gooden became the fifth of eight players drafted by Tennessee in April to agree on a rookie deal, joining fourth-rounder Brian Schwenke, fifth-rounder Lavar Edwards, sixth-rounder Khalid Wooten and seventh-rounder Daimion Stafford.
A three-year starter and a team captain as a senior at Missouri, Gooden totaled 49 games played, 256 tackles, five interceptions and four sacks during his college career.
He also registered the fastest 40-yard dash time among linebackers at this year's NFL Combine, drawing comparisons to Titans outside linebacker and 2012 second-round selection Zach Brown.
Gooden's signing leaves the signings of first-round pick Chance Warmack, second-round choice Justin Hunter and Blidi Wreh-Wilson on Tennessee's to-do list.
