NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans added a running back in the fifth round, selecting Minnesota's David Cobb with the 138th overall pick.
Cobb, who ran for 69 yards on 11 carries in the 2015 Senior Bowl, set a school single-season record with 1,626 rushing yards, including two games of 200-plus yards (Middle Tennessee State and San Jose State), and was selected second-team All-Big Ten in 2014.
His 2,893 career rushing yards and 562 rushing attempts both rank seventh on the university's all-time list. He rushed for 100 yards in 13 games, and the Gophers were 9-4 in those games. In addition, he rushed for 200 yards twice, setting a career-high with 220 rushing yards against Middle Tennessee State Sept. 6, 2014, and had a 207-yard rushing game two weeks later against San Jose State. He ended his career with 20 rushing touchdowns, including 13 in 2014 and seven in 2013, tying for 10th all-time in school history.
Cobb started the final six games of 2013 and played in all 13 games, despite not even being on two-deep depth chart to start season. He surpassed the 100-yard mark five times and finished with team-high 1,202 yards rushing. He played in nine games from 2011-2012.
Cobb rushed for 2,946 yards and 35 touchdowns as three-year starter at Ellison High School (Texas).
