NASHVILLE – Titans receiver Calvin Ridley is preaching positivity.
Ridley, who signed with the team this offseason after playing previously with the Falcons and Jaguars, won't let the team's 0-2 start bring him down.
"We shouldn't change our mood at all – we should be happy, no matter what, coming into this building," Ridley said. "Because at the end of the day, this is football. Walking around mad or sad isn't going to help you play better or anything. We need to keep our spirits up, keep our energy up, and encourage one another. And, just keep playing, and living and laughing and smiling and having fun."
He's doing his part to lift up others as well.
"Listen, I am not going to be sad," Ridley said. "I am not going to be sad, because I take it home. My family, I have friends, brothers, and I want to be normal when they call me. They didn't do nothing to me. So, we should come in here and love each other and build and grow and go into the game as one. And I am going to keep saying that.
"We're 0 and 2, and that can make a team go down a little bit. But this building is still happy, and we're still having fun. … (We should) just chill and be happy that we are living and playing football. We are working to get better and we're going to change this thing around. We're not far – we should be 2 and 0."
Ridley is also doing his part on the field.
Ridley scored on a 10-yard touchdown on Sunday against the Jets, on a day when he four passes for 77 yards and scored another touchdown on a 40-yard pass from quarterback Will Levis.
The Titans return to action on Sunday against the Packers at Nissan Stadium.
"It's only going to get better," Ridley said. "I know this about myself. It's only going to get better. I'm learning, I'm still learning my quarterback, and I'm going to do whatever I have to do every day, if I have to run, catch, whatever I have to do for Will to feel comfortable and play great, which the great player he is, I'm going to do that."
