NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** Running back Derrick Henry leads the Titans in rushing yards, and when he's played, he's performed well.

With veteran DeMarco Murray's status in question heading into Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Henry could be called on for an even bigger role.

On Thursday, Henry was very businesslike when asked about the current status at the position. Henry said he'll be ready, like always.

"Just trying to win a game, and help this team win and get in the playoffs," Henry said. "We know what we have to do.

"I am not really focused on me. I am focused on the team as a whole, and me doing my job is helping the team, helping the offense and just going out there and beating a good opponent like the Jaguars.

"I don't know how many carries I am going to get," Henry continued. "But I am going to make the most of my opportunities, and it's all about how we execute those."

Henry has played in all 15 games this season, and he leads the team with 693 rushing yards on 148 carries. Henry also has five rushing touchdowns. Henry ran for 92 yards and a touchdown in the first meeting at Jacksonville, and he has 90-plus scrimmage yards and a touchdown in two of the last three meetings vs. the  Jaguars.

In the past three games vs. AFC South opponents, Henry has 319 rush yards (106.3 per game) and two touchdowns.

Murray, who missed practice again on Thursday because of a knee injury, has 659 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 184 carries.

Titans coach Mike Mularkey hasn't ruled Murray out for Sunday, and mentioned he could be used in a limited role.

If Murray can't go, Henry would slide into a bigger role, and running back David Fluellen would also be in line to get work.

A Heisman Trophy winner at Alabama, Henry said his body feels good at the end of his second NFL season.

"I am fine," he said. "I am practicing well, and want to go out there and make something happen. … I just want to go out there and help my team win a game."

Teammates and coaches say Henry is ready.

Offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie believes this is an opportunity Henry has been waiting for in the NFL.

"He is a grown man," Robiskie said of Henry. "I think he has been eager for two years. He came in last year and was eager to go. He didn't just come in and say, 'Hey, I want to sit down and back up DeMarco Murray.' He wanted to play. He wanted to go out and play. So he's got a chance to play."
