Titans QB Will Levis Excited About Returning to Action on Sunday vs Texans

NASHVILLE – Will Levis is ready to return to action on Sunday.

The Titans second-year quarterback said on Wednesday he's excited about the opportunity, although we're going to have to wait a little longer to find out what his role will be exactly.

"It's the last opportunity this year to go play some ball, and I'm excited to go out there and try and get another win," Levis said after today's practice. "I sure as heck wouldn't want my last throw (of the season) to be a pick-6. So at least I have a shot at that not being the case.

"I am focused on playing quarterback the best that I can and it's a good opportunity to try and end the season on a good note."

Coach Brian Callahan earlier in the week the plan is for both Will Levis and Mason Rudolph to play in the season finale on Sunday against the Texans, but he declined to name the team's starter.

Callahan didn't divulge a lot more information on Wednesday either, saying he'd wait until later in the week.

"I have a pretty good feel for it," Callahan said. "I'll let you guys know at the end of the week, once we get through practice. But they're splitting reps evenly right now.

"They'll both be prepared, and both be ready to play."

Rudolph replaced Levis as the starter for the team's December 22 game at Indianapolis. The Titans lost that game, and they lost again with Rudolph as the starter on Sunday in Jacksonville.

Callahan said if the Titans had won those two games, he'd probably be sticking with Rudolph to close out the season.

"Marching orders is we're both going to play some, in some capacity," Rudolph said. "I'll let (coach Callahan) announce (who the starter is). You just have to do your best, handle it the best you can, and try and move the guys down the field."

Rudolph is 139-of-219 for 1,460 yards with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions on the season, with a 79.3 rating.

Levis is 181-of-284 for 1,916 yards with 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions this season, with a 79.8 rating.

Levis, who hasn't played since the team's December 15 game against the Bengals, is not only excited to return to action.

He's looking forward to putting the Oilers throwback uniforms on again, too.

"They look sweet," said Levis, who wore the uniform twice last season. "Look good, feel good, play good. … I'm excited to get them back on this week, I've been looking forward to it all year. And we can honor the (Oilers) players who wore it."
