Titans QB Will Levis Champing at the Bit to Return to Action

NASHVILLE – Will Levis is aiming to be back in the saddle this weekend.

On Thursday, the Titans quarterback said he's made progress in his recovery from his right shoulder injury and he's hoping to be ready for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

"I am competitive as heck, and I want to be out there every week," Levis said. "It sucks when you're out there and can't be playing. So, hopefully I'll be able to go this week. I've been champing at the bit, and excited to go out there and lead our team."

Levis was a full participant in Thursday's practice, one day after being limited in Wednesday's session.

Titans coach Brian Callahan said on Wednesday the team planned to increase the reps for Levis this week, and the team has done that.

Levis said it's been a good week so far, and he feels good.

He admitted he couldn't even do pushups after initially suffering the injury, so the soreness and pain has subsided a good deal, which is allowing him to make throws he couldn't make a few weeks ago. He's also getting his strength back.

Levis hasn't played since October 13 against the Colts, which was two weeks after he initially suffered the injury in the team's Monday night game at the Miami Dolphins.

Mason Rudolph has started the past three games for the Titans, and he has 215-plus passing yards and a passing touchdown in each of the three starts.

Levis wants to keep the positive momentum going in his return.

"I am just going to try to operate the offense the best way that I can," Levis said. "I feel like I've gotten better, and I think I'll show improvement in that area. But I am not going into this second stint of the season being like: 'I have to play this way, or another way.' I think you can get into trouble when you think like that. I am just trying to operate the offense, and just try and be the best quarterback I can for this team."
