NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans have informed outside linebacker Kevin Dodd that he will be released.
A second-round draft pick by the Titans in the 2016 NFL Draft, Dodd played in 18 games for the Titans over the past two seasons. He recorded 20 tackles and one sack in those contests, and started one game.
Dodd suffered a foot injury during the offseason leading up to his rookie year, and had two surgeries to repair the injury. During his time with the Titans he failed to develop into the pass-rushing force the team hoped he would in the NFL. Dodd recorded 12 sacks and 26.5 tackles for a loss during his playing career at Clemson.
Dodd failed to report on Sunday, when he was scheduled to join other players on the roster who finished June with lingering injuries. On Tuesday morning, he was informed he was being let go by the team.
All Titans players are scheduled to report for training camp on Wednesday. The team's first practice is set for Thursday at Saint Thomas Sports Park.
