NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Titans have selected SMU tight end Taylor Thompson with the 145th pick overall after making their first trade this draft with Miami to move up 10 spots.
Tennessee sent the Dolphins the 155th pick overall along with No. 227 in the seventh round to jump up and select the 6-foot-6, 287-pound Thompson.
He was first-team Conference USA as a junior at defensive end when he had 4.5 sacks. But Thompson was an All-State tight end in Texas in high school and went into the draft as a tight end.
