Long-time Director Berk to Retire
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Titans hired Green Bay (Wisc.) Chief of Police Jim Arts to be the next Director of Security. He will replace Steve Berk, who is retiring at the end of June after 16 years with the organization.
Arts joins the Titans organization after spending 26 years with the Green Bay Police Department, including the last five years as Chief of Police. In his time with the Green Bay Police force he worked closely with the Green Bay Packers in planning and coordinating security for home games among many other duties.
"We interviewed a number of highly-qualified candidates, but Jim had the skill set and experience that fit our needs," said Titans Chief Operating Officer Mike Reinfeldt. "He has worked with a football team from the other side and understands what will work from the team's perspective and the city's. He came with high recommendations and we look forward to him joining our organization. He has big shoes to fill – Steve has been a great asset to our organization for a number of years and he will be missed. We wish him the best in his retirement."
A native of Wisconsin, Arts started with the Green Bay Police Department as a cadet in 1986, and worked his way up to Chief of Police in 2006. Arts will start in his new role with the organization next month.
