NASHVILLE – The Titans are back from the bye week, and they're getting some injured players back on the practice field.
On Monday, the Titans moved receiver Julio Jones, receiver Racey McMath and safety Dane Cruikshank to the team's "Designated for Return from Injured Reserve" list, clearing their return to practice.
This designation opens up a 21-day window for all three players to practice with the team, and they will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.
Three more moves on Monday:
-The Titans released outside linebacker John Simon from the active roster.
-Linebacker Tuzar Skipper has been signed to the team's practice squad.
Skipper (6-3, 246) re-joins the Titans, where he played four games for the team in 2020. Spending the majority of the season on the Titans practice squad in 2020, he totaled five tackles in four games last season. In 2021, he spent training camp with Atlanta. For his career, Skipper has played 10 games, posting eight tackles and a half sack. He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent, after finishing his college career at Toledo.
-Tight end Austin Fort has been removed from the practice squad Reserve/COVID-19 list and restored to the practice squad.
Jones, placed on Injured Reserve on November 13, should give the team's receiving corps a boost when he returns to action. Jones, who has 21 catches for 336 yards on the season, has played in just six games this season.
McMath, who has played in four games this season, hasn't played since being placed on IR back on October 8.
Cruikshank, meanwhile, has been on IR since November 13. Cruikshank played in nine games before suffering an injury.
Titans receiver A.J. Brown, placed on IR back on November 27, isn't eligible to return until the team's December 23 game against the 49ers.
The Titans face the Jaguars on Sunday at noon at Nissan Stadium.
