NASHVILLE, Tenn . – T-Rac is headed back to Hawaii.
The official mascot of the Tennessee Titans will make his eighth trip to the Pro Bowl when the NFL plays its annual all-star game between the AFC and NFC on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Aloha Stadium.
The fan favorite and extremely popular mascot wasn't surprised when he received word last night of his selection. With seven Pro Bowls under his belt, the energetic raccoon is already a veteran of sorts.
"I know the little people would like to thank me for representing the Titans," he said today in a phone interview, "and I just want them to know 'You're welcome.'"
T-Rac's value to Titans Nation never goes unnoticed. After all, entertaining sold-out crowds at LP Field and keeping fan spirit high is a serious job. However, fans won't always find T-Rac on the field. He can often be seen zip-lining into the stadium and unveiling the "Pain Train" at LP Field.
When T-Rac isn't busy preparing for games, he stays active in the Middle Tennessee community attending local events and performing his "T-Rac Play 60 Programs" at area elementary schools. His school programs have reached nearly 40,000 students in recent years!
In addition, T-Rac's appearances on the annual Titans Caravan and partnership with Tennessee State Parks gives him additional outlets to spread the team's good will.
As for the Pro Bowl, T-Rac is once again ready to make a big splash. He certainly sounds prepared.
"I usually start planning my trip to Honolulu around the middle of the summer," he said. "I reserved my hotel rooms and made my limo reservation back in July."
Fans can follow all of T-Rac's Pro Bowl adventures by following him on Twitter at @TRacTitans and on the team's official web site, www.titansonline.com.
