TITANS LOOK TO BUILD ON GREEN BAY PERFORMANCE

The Titans opened their preseason schedule last week in Green Bay, where they jumped out to an early lead but ultimately fell by a final score of 31-17.

The Titans offense, led by quarterback Marcus Mariota, began the contest with a nine-play, 71-yard drive that was highlighted by two throws by Mariota on third down: first, a 38-yard completion to wide receiver Nick Williams, and second, a four-yard touchdown pass to Darius Jennings. In addition to his two completions (three attempts) for 42 yards, Mariota also rushed for seven yards and a first down.

Veteran quarterback Blaine Gabbert took the snaps from the second series through most of the third quarter. Rookie sixth-round pick Luke Falk then grabbed the reins and led a late touchdown drive.

On the defensive side, Titans inside linebacker Jayon Brown collected an interception after Packers quarterback Brett Hundley was hit by outside linebacker Gimel President while attempting a pass. Second-round rookie outside linebacker Harold Landry III was the team's lone rookie starter. He recorded one of the team's three sacks and forced a fumble on the play (recovered by the Packers).

*THE BUCCANEERS *

The Buccaneers are in their third season under the leadership of head coach Dirk Koetter. During the past two seasons, Koetter's team ranked eighth in the NFL in total offense (354.9 yards per game).

Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston was the first-overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, one spot ahead of where Mariota was selected by the Titans. Winston has passed for more than 3,500 yards in each of his first three seasons, totaling 11,636 yards, 69 touchdowns and 44 interceptions in 45 games.

The Buccaneers won their preseason opener last week at Miami, 26-24.
