NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** The Titans hosted over 100 Bridgestone teammates on August 25 for a celebration and work session at Nissan Stadium.
"We get our marketing teammates together about once a quarter and talk about what's going on with the business and high priority projects," said Philip Dobbs, Chief Marketing Officer of Bridgestone Americas. "We take some time to celebrate as a team as we've had some nice successes over the past few years so it's always great as a team to take a pause and give each other a high-five. What better place to do that than Nissan Stadium, hosted by the Titans and we're really excited about that."
Bridgestone Tower will be the name for Bridgestone Americas new $200 million corporate headquarters that's nearing completion in the area south of Broadway. The new headquarters will bring 1,700 employees, including 600 who are out-of-sate, into downtown Nashville.
Bridgestone Americas' employees chose the new name, which was unveiled during a "topping out" ceremony for the 30-story tower at Fourth Avenue South and Demonbreun Street.
"We're excited to move downtown!" said Phil Pacsi, Vice President of Sports & Events Marketing of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations. "It was a long process! It started out with a big hole in the ground and many, many months to the tower that's completed now. Our first group will move in the first week of September and it will take us about six weeks to move in. It will be about 1,600 teammates that will reside in the tower. A number of people are moving into the Nashville area also which is bringing more jobs and more economic impact to the community. We are really excited to start this next chapter of the company and being in a great place – downtown Nashville."
"Bridgestone continues to be a giant in the sports marketing landscape across the entire globe, said Brad McClanahan, Titans Director of Marketing. "It's a pleasure to host their teammates here at Nissan Stadium and celebrate all of their accomplishments with them. And now that we're practically neighbors with their new Bridgestone Tower just across the river, we look forward to many more celebrations to come!"
"Bridgestone has been a longstanding partner with the Titans and it's important that we celebrate the community that we live and work in. We love the Titans, we love being a part of it and they are an important part of the community for us," said Pacsi.
Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, Bridgestone Retail Operations, Firestone Building Products and Firestone Industrial Products are the tire-maker's four business units that call the 514,000-square-foot building headquarters. Firestone Building Products recently acquired a company called Gaco Western, which will be managed as part of Bridgestone's roots to rooftops product portfolio.
