NASHVILLE, Tenn —The Titans want to see a bounce-back performance from receiver Justin Hunter in the preseason finale vs. the Vikings.
After a solid training camp, Hunter took a step back last week in Kansas City. He was targeted four times, but didn't have a catch.
Hunter missed two days of practices this week, but is expected to play against the Vikings.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt said he hasn't given up on Hunter by any stretch.
"I don't think that I am predisposed to dislike Justin because he had a bad preseason game,'' Whisenhunt said. "I judge Justin on what he has done, his body of work. It is important that he has success, and he's had as good a camp as anybody.
"He had one game where he didn't make a couple of catches – there were a couple of balls that weren't even catchable. So he gets an opportunity this week to play. There's also a lot of reps out here where he's made a lot of progress."
In three preseason games, Hunter has two catches for 14 yards.
