NASHVILLE, Tenn. —Titans players Jordan Babineaux, Rob Bironas, Ryan Mouton and Nate Washington teamed with Titans cheerleaders as part of Tracy Lawrence's effort to benefit the Nashville Rescue Mission.
This year marked the Seventh Annual "Mission Possible" Turkey Fry hosted by Lawrence.
Turkey fryers lined the Nashville Rescue Mission parking lot yesterday as more than 500 turkeys thawed in preparation for a hot oil bath. Titans players and cheerleaders joined in the turkey fry by offering assistance with the cooking process in addition to interacting with other volunteers at the event.
Once thoroughly cooked, each turkey was portioned and prepared to serve to the homeless and hungry in Middle Tennessee this Thanksgiving.
In the spirit of the holiday season, attending Titans players made a personal donation to help feed those served by Nashville Rescue Mission on Thanksgiving Day. The donations will translate into an estimated 1,665 meals for people in need this Thanksgiving.
Since the debut of his "Mission Possible" Turkey Fry in 2006, Lawrence and his associates have donated close to 6,000 turkeys, an estimated 35,000 meals and raised more than $100,000 for the Nashville Rescue Mission.
The event was a continuation of a busy month for Bironas, who worked his second charity event in the past week. Bironas co-chaired the "Chair-ish The Night" event with Vince Gill earlier in November, benefitting STARs (Students Taking A Right Stand). The event serves schools and communities by providing prevention, intervention, and treatment services, addressing bullying, substance abuse, violence, and social and emotional barriers to success.
