EAGAN, Minn. – Titans receiver Treylon Burks didn't practice on Thursday after suffering a leg injury in Wednesday's practice.
Titans coach Mike Vrabel gave an update on Burks today after practice, and it sounded encouraging.
"I don't think it's going to be a long-term thing," Vrabel said of Burks. "(There's) no structural damage. We're anticipating him being back – I'm not putting a timeline on it – but I think it was the best-case scenario."
Burks was carted off the practice fields here on Wednesday.
Burks remained with the team in Minnesota instead of traveling back to Tennessee.
On the play he was injured, Burks went up to make a catch in practice on a deep ball thrown by quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Burks initially stood up, but after limping a few steps he went back to the ground with an apparent leg injury.
Teammates came over to visit with Burks before he was eventually carted off the field at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, where the Titans are practicing this week vs the Vikings.
A first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Burks had been enjoying an impressive training camp before Wednesday's injury.
"(I think) he's relieved," Vrabel said of Burks. "I think when you have that type thing and you feel something, I think (it's relief). We'll rehab him and I know he'll work to get back, and when he's ready to come back out he'll help us."
The Titans face the Vikings in preseason game No.2 on Saturday night.
