The 6-foot-4, 277-pound Edwards displayed flashes of brilliance in his role at LSU, posting 96 tackles (41 solo), 10.5 sacks, 20 stops for loss, six QB pressures, two fumble recoveries, a fumble return for a TD, two forced fumbles, five passes defensed and an interception he returned 23 yards for a touchdown.
Four of Edwards' six QB pressures either caused interceptions or came on the final play for that possession. He also had a nose for the end zone, scoring on a 29-yard fumble recovery vs. Louisiana-Monroe as a sophomore and on a 23-yard interception return vs. Idaho as a senior.
Edwards received one of the team's Unsung Hero Awards in 2012, appearing in all 13 games and registering 26 tackles (14 solo), 4.5 sacks, seven stops for loss, three QB pressures and an interception.
