CHRIS JOHNSON'S BIGGEST DAY SINCE DEC. 4: Chris Johnson led the Titans with 141 rushing yards on 25 carries (5.9 average). In recording the 29th 100-yard game of his career his first of 2012, Johnson posted his 10th-highest single-game rushing total and his highest since Dec. 4, 2011 at Buffalo (153 yards). He registered four carries of 10 or more yards, including a long of 19.
MULTIIPLE-TOUCHDOWN PERFORMANCE BY HASSELBECK: Matt Hasselbeck came off the bench for the Titans after Jake Locker left the game with a shoulder injury. He completed 17 of 25 passes for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns. In the second quarter, he tossed a 19-yard touchdown pass to tight end Craig Stevens, and in the fourth quarter, he completed an 11-yard touchdown pass to Kendall Wright. It gave Hasselbeck 196 career touchdown passes and 55 career regular-season games with multiple touchdown passes.
WRIGHT LEADS TEAM AGAIN: For the second consecutive week, rookie wide receiver Kendall Wright led the Titans in receptions. The first-round pick totaled four receptions for 46 yards at Houston. Late in the fourth quarter, he recorded his second career touchdown on an 11-yard pass from Matt Hasselbeck.
WASHINGTON EXTENDS STREAK: In the second quarter, Nate Washington caught a 13-yard pass from Matt Hasselbeck to extend his streak of consecutive games with at least one reception to 66, including all 52 games he has played with the Titans. Washington totaled three receptions for 43 yards against the Texans.
CAREER LONG FOR QUINN JOHNSON: On a scoring drive in the second quarter, fullback Quinn Johnson converted a third-and-one with a 17-yard reception. It marked a career long for Johnson.
STEVENS RECORDS FOURTH CAREER TOUCHDOWN: In the second quarter, tight end Craig Stevens rumbled into the end zone on a pass from Matt Hasselbeck. The 19-yard catch marked Stevens' fourth career touchdown reception (first of 2012).
TITANS USE BACKUP QUARTERBACK AGAIN: With Matt Hasselbeck coming off the bench at Houston, it marked the 12th time in the last 36 games (since the start of the 2010 season) the quarterback who began the game as a backup ended up playing.
THREE ROOKIES START: For the second time this season, three rookies were in the starting lineup for the Titans. On offense, wide receiver Kendall Wright made his third consecutive start. He was joined by Taylor Thompson, who started as a second tight end. On defense, Zach Brown started at outside linebacker. The first time a trio of rookies started this season for the Titans was Sept. 16 at San Diego, when Wright, Brown and defensive tackle Mike Martin were in the lineup for the first play.
KERN'S SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE GAME WITH 41 NET: For the seventh consecutive game dating back to Dec. 18, 2011 at Indianapolis, Brett Kern had a net punting average of 41.0 or greater. Against the Texans, Kern punted seven times for a gross average of 46.6 and a net average of 41.7.
BIRONAS' STREAK ENDS: Entering the game at Houston, Rob Bironas made at least one field goal in 13 consecutive games. The streak came to an end as the third-longest in franchise history, trailing only Bironas' previous streaks of 20 games (2009-10) and 19 games (2006-07).
INACTIVES: The Titans' seven inactive players against the Lions were quarterback Rusty Smith, linebacker Colin McCarthy, running back Jamie Harper, tackle Mike Otto, defensive tackle DaJohn Harris, guard Deuce Lutui and wide receiver Kenny Britt.
