OFFENSE PUTS TOGETHER TD DRIVE: After struggling to put together a long offensive drive for much of the first half, the starting offense of the Titans drove 69 yards on eight plays in the final four minutes of the second quarter. The drive included a 16-yard run by Javon Ringer, a 10-yard pass from Kerry Collins to Justin Gage and finally a 17-yard touchdown from Collins to Gage to put the Titans ahead 10-7.
STARTERS' PLAYING TIME: With Kerry Collins starting at quarterback, the Titans offense played the entire first half, completing four total drives. The starting defense played three total series, yielding to the second-team defense midway through the second quarter. The Titans had a 10-7 lead at the time both the starting offense and defense were off the field, even though the Cowboys had a lead in time of possession in the first half of more than 12 minutes.
RINGER RETURNS KICKOFF 51 YARDS: After the Cowboys took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, rookie Javon Ringer returned the ensuing kickoff 51 yards. Ringer returned 15 kickoffs during his career at Michigan State for an average of 20.6 yards and a long of 33. The kickoff resulted in a 46-yard field goal by Rob Bironas.
TRAPASSO HITS THE SCOREBOARD: In the third quarter, back-up punter A.J. Trapasso hit the video board above the playing field. By rule, the play was ruled dead and replayed. Trapasso responded with a 47-yarder on the re-kick.
