FansInvited to Join 'Pep Rally on Wheels' to Highlight Convenience of Bus Service
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mayor Karl Dean today announced that he is partnering with the Tennessee Titans organization and Nashville MTA to host a "pep rally on wheels" for Titans fans to ride MTA Bus Route 9 with T-Rac and Titans cheerleaders on Friday, Aug. 1 to attend training camp, where they can watch Titans players prepare for the upcoming football season.

"By taking the bus to training camp, fans will see that our city bus service is more than just a great transportation option for commuters and students using it for every day travel," Mayor Dean said. "I want to thank the Titans for hosting this pep rally bus ride with me and for helping to get our community excited about the convenience of Nashville's transit options."
Mayor Dean is a frequent traveler on the Nashville MTA system. As part of "Mayor on Board" bus rides each month, he rides different bus routes all over Davidson County to highlight MTA's convenience and accessibility as a transportation alternative.
Joining Mayor Dean on Friday will be the Titans mascot T-Rac; Titans cheerleaders; Don MacLachlan, Titans executive vice president of administration and facilities; and Ed Oliphant, interim CEO of MTA Nashville. They will ride the Nashville MTA Bus Route 9 which has a stop directly next to the Saint Thomas Sports Park in MetroCenter, where the Titans hold their training camp sessions.

Festivities will kick off at 2 p.m. at the downtown transit terminal, Music City Central, 400 Charlotte Avenue, near Bay 2. Everyone in attendance will receive a free Titans car flag and Titans bobblehead, as well as a free water or Gatorade. Fans are asked to RSVP by clicking here.
Fans are encouraged to wear their Titans gear and make poster-board signs to show their team spirit. They are encouraged to use the hashtags #titansfansonboard and #weridethebus. T-Rac and the Titans cheerleaders will identify the most-spirited fan to have their picture taken with Mayor Dean and Titans Executive Vice President Don MacLachlan.
The bus will depart downtown for the training facility at 2:15 p.m. Return buses run every 20 minutes to 30 minutes, with the last return bus departing Saint Thomas Sports Park at approximately 5:35 p.m. This training camp session takes place from 2:50 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost for local service on an MTA bus is $1.70 per ride, $5.25 for an All-Day Pass or customers can use their multi-ride ticket.
MTA's Route 9 buses travel directly to the Titans training facility and operate between approximately 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. every Monday through Friday. Fans are encouraged to use MTA to attend any of the weekday training camp sessions open to the public.
