NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Titans extended their consecutive sell-out streak to 124 games Saturday, showing another example of the team's strong fan base coming through despite challenging economic times.
Approximately 105 fans were at LP Field this morning as tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. Within 20 minutes, regular season games against AFC rivals Indianapolis and Pittsburgh were sold out. It took just over four hours for tickets to all 10 games to be sold, said Don MacLachlan, executive vice president of administration and facilities for the Titans.
"We anticipated it would take some time based on the flooding and economy," MacLachlan said. "Every year is a different year, but we are just thrilled with the fact that the sellout streak is extended to 124 games. We are very appreciative of our fan base. As it continues each year, the organization cannot thank our fans enough. They create a huge home-field advantage for us and we appreciate their incredible dedication over the last 12 years."
The majority of tickets were sold online via Ticketmaster, over the phone and at Ticketmaster locations, including area Kroger stores. All 105 people waiting in line – some since Tuesday afternoon – received tickets, MacLachlan said.
Roughly 3,000 seats were made available for eight regular season games and two preseason contests. Saturday's sell-out means every game has been sold out at LP Field since the stadium opened its doors in 1999.
"Mr. Adams and our entire organization extend our gratitude to our season ticket holders and the fans that bought up the rest of the tickets on Saturday," MacLachlan said. "At the end of the day, every game was sold out and it's a huge credit to the great fans that we have."
The Titans began training camp today and open the preseason in two weeks at Seattle. The preseason home opener is Monday, Aug. 23 against Arizona. The Titans open the regular season at home against Oakland on Sunday, Sept. 12.
