NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Titans have traded back into the NFL draft and selected defensive end Scott Solomon of Rice at No. 211 overall in the seventh-round.
The Titans already swapped their own seventh-round pick to Miami to move up 10 spots in the fifth round. They traded a sixth-round pick in 2013 with Minnesota to get back into the final round to draft their only defensive end.
The 6-foot-3, 270-pound Solomon had 24 career sacks tying the school record at Rice, including 8.5 as a senior. He also had 43.5 tackles for loss in his career.
The Titans also drafted defensive tackle Mike Martin of Michigan in the third round. But Solomon is their first end with Tennessee trying to boost a pass rush that managed only 28 sacks last season.
