Titans center Kevin Mawae helps pour concrete during construction of a playground at RISE Academy School in Lauderhill, Fla., near Fort Lauderdale. Pro Bowl players joined volunteers in projects designed to help local children stay healthy and active as part of NFL PLAY 60, the league's campaign to fight childhood obesity.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –** With this year's Pro Bowl being in Miami, Kyle Vanden Bosch had the opportunity to bring his wife and three children due to the close proximity to Nashville. Vanden Bosch has been chasing the kids around the pool and the beaches during his free time, but doesn't mind it.

"They're sunburned already, but it's been a great trip," said Vanden Bosch.

This past December, Vanden Bosch was selected as the 2009 Titans Community Man of the Year for his involvement in the Nashville community. He didn't limit his Community Man of the Year Award to just Nashville while in Miami.

During his free time on Thursday afternoon, he joined other Titans players in extending his services to the greater Miami area by taking time to volunteer with the NFL's Play 60 initiative. The project: build a playground for the local youth to help them remain active.

"That's important while I'm here to give back to the community," Vanden Bosch said.

The Titans' work on Thursday afternoon outside of the state of Tennessee is a true expression of their character on display.
