Titans choose Pro Bowl cheerleader

NASHVILLE, TN, Jan. 15, 2009 —It is a sad week for the Tennessee Titans.  After a season-ending defeat against Baltimore in last Saturday's AFC divisional playoffs, both players and cheerleaders have been emptying their lockers and heading out for the winter.  However, for Titans' cheerleader Lindsay S., the season is not over yet — she is heading to the Pro Bowl!

The squad held its annual Pro Bowl announcement party at the home of Director of Cheerleading, Stacie Kinder in November.  Chosen by her fellow squad members, as well as by members of the cheerleading staff and their sponsors, Lindsay will represent the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders at the 2009 Pro Bowl.

In addition to Lindsay S, Tonia, and Julia were part of the top three finalist group.

"I heard my name called as one the top three nominees and that was an honor in itself. So, at that point, I was just thrilled to be recognized by the team," Lindsay said, reflecting on the announcement. "I honestly was hardly paying attention – and then to hear Stacie call my name and walk to me with the roses was just too much. Of course I cried, overwhelmed with the emotion. It was truly unexpected, and that's an understatement!"

A four-year veteran of the squad and first-year captain, it is no surprise Lindsay was chosen to represent the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders as the all-stars from the AFC and NFC battle to win the Pro Bowl on Sunday, February 8.  One cheerleader from 26 NFL teams will spend a week in Honolulu, Hawaii and cheer during the game at Aloha Stadium.

With tears of joy, Lindsay S. poses with Pro Bowl Cheerleading representatives from 2007, Jennifer, and 2008, Valerie.
"I am proud to send Lindsay to the 2009 Pro Bowl as our Titans representative," says Director of Cheerleading Stacie Kinder.  "She is a role model for our entire team in her work ethic, attitude and dedication.  She is a model of perseverance and resolve, setting high goals in all that she does.  She will be a perfect Pro Bowl Cheerleader."

Lindsay, a Nashville native and a Senior Account Executive at Buntin Out-of-Home Media, is extremely grateful to be able to represent her squad in Hawaii.  Lindsay auditioned twice before making the squad on her third attempt; she is now a four-year veteran and captain.

"It's amazing. We are all such talented, beautiful, and educated ladies and any one of us would do a great job representing the Titans at Pro Bowl. Knowing that makes this honor truly appreciated and unbelievable. I still pinch myself to double check," Lindsay said. "It's such an honor and I am extremely thankful to my teammates for selecting me to represent them, not only to be a member of this elite group of ladies, but to have the opportunity to represent them and our organization is just too amazing for words."

Although the season has ended for the rest of the Titans Cheerleading squad, Lindsay has one more game to look forward to.  Fans can watch Lindsay cheer during the Pro Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 8 (3:30 p.m.) on NBC.  Also, check out for Lindsay's "Postcards from Hawaii" right here on the Titans Cheerleading website as she documents her journey throughout the week in Honolulu!
