This week we are shining our Cheerleader Spotlight on our second year Titans Cheerleader, Katie. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Katie moved to Nashville when she was 18 to earn her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, and we are so glad she never left! Katie truly emulates the perfect combination of brains and beauty. Read on to learn more about our brilliant cheerleader!
What is your current job outside of cheering for the Tennessee Titans?
I am a space planner for the largest operator of rural lifestyle retail stores in the United States. We have over 1,700 stores which on average are about 15,500 square feet each- that's a lot of space to organize!
Do you have any pets?
My fish, Blop. I almost killed him once, but he's been alive for 3 years now, so we're doing great!
What has been your favorite moment so far as a Titans Cheerleader?
Performing at the Nashville Christmas Parade last year was AMAZING! I have this emotional scale from 1 to 10, 1 being sad and 10 being happy. If I'm outside of the 3-7 emotional range, I'm in tears. I was definitely at a solid 8.5, and I was crying happy tears the whole time!
Who is your number one person to go to for advice?
My mom- she is always right about everything!
Are you a "closet" fan of anything?
Infomercials. I LOVE watching them.
If you could only dance to one artist for the rest of your life, who would you pick?
Rihanna. "Love in a Hopeless Place" is already my go-to karaoke song!
What have you gained from this cheer opportunity within the NFL?
Self-confidence! I can do it all.
What is your spirit animal?
A unicorn. We both love glitter and live with our head in the clouds.
Do you have any strange phobias?
Revolving doors. Not okay with me.
What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?
I'm a nerd more often than not... it's hard to list one thing that wouldn't make me nerdy!
Why do you cheer?
I grew up dancing and I love performing. Becoming a professional cheerleader has been a dream of mine for a long time. I am so thankful that I was able to make my dreams come true through the Titans!
