NASHVILLE, Tenn. –They call him "Mouse."

But as it turns out, Titans teammates call cornerback LeShaun Sims a lot of things.

"We call him Mouse, but we also call him L-Dog and the Silent Killer, too," Titans safety Kevin Byard said with a smile. "Anything that has anything to do with being quiet and going to work, that's LeShaun."

The Titans called on Sims in the second half of Sunday's game against the Texans, and the second-year cornerback came through in the clutch. Sims went up and intercepted a pass thrown by Texans quarterback Tom Savage in the end zone, with just 1:08 left.

It allowed the Titans to close things out in a 24-13 win.

The pass was intended for Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins, and Sims was in coverage because starter Logan Ryan had been sidelined earlier with a concussion.

"I told him before that drive even started, after Logan went down: People know you, but they don't really know you. Make a play and make them know you after this game," cornerback Brice McCain said of Sims. "And he went out and did it.

"I'm so happy for him. He's a quiet guy, and he goes about his business. You can never tell if he is happy, or if he is sad."

Sims was happy after Sunday's win.

He left Nissan Stadium with a football – the souvenir from his interception. He was carrying a backpack with teeth on his back.

Yes, Sims showed his teeth when the Titans needed him most. Leading up to the game-saving interception, Hopkins had reeled in eight catches for 80 yards, on 14 targets. He pulled in some tough catches when the coverage was tight.

Sims was put in charge of slowing down Hopkins, a tough task for any cornerback.

"He's a tough cover, very physical," Sims said of Hopkins. "You pretty much have to fight fire with fire.

"It feels great to make a play like this when it counted."

The interception came on a first down from the Tennessee 29-yard line. It came a play after the Texans had converted a 4th and 19.

The Titans didn't get down.

Sims instead went up and made a play. When the Titans got the ball back, running back Derrick Henry closed it out with a 75-yard run with just 46 seconds left.

"What a big play," linebacker Brian Orakpo said of the interception. "Yeah, LeShaun is a quiet guy. Even since that pick I haven't heard him say a word. He's just smiling. But that's how he is, he is quiet and when his number is called he goes out there and makes a play. And he made a big play today."
