NASHVILLE, Tenn. — For the residents at Saint Thomas Hickman Nursing Home in Centerville, Tenn., Tuesday was just another ordinary day until the Tennessee Titans pulled in their parking lot for a "Titans Tuesday" visit.

Titans DL Austin Johnson, OLB Aaron Wallace, CB Kalan Reed, WR Tajae Sharpe and DL Antwaun Woods visited the nursing home patients Tuesday morning with warm smiles and wishes of wellness.

The residents and staff were all waiting to meet the Titans players and the most excited resident was Buford 'Bubba' Wayne Tidwell, II, who is the youngest resident at 43 years old.  Bubba can be found watching the Titans, his favorite team,  play each week.

The oldest resident is Idella McCoy, who is 101 years old.  Idella was a nurse for 50 years and she also served as the post master at Wrigley Park.   She took care of Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon, known professionally as Minnie Pearl, who was an American country comedian appearing at the Grand Ole Opry for more than 50 years and on the television show Hee Haw from 1969 to 1991. Idella was so excited about the Titans visit that she picked her dress out yesterday so it could be ironed and ready for the special visit today.

"Saint Thomas Hickman truly appreciates the Titans visit to our facility," said Jack Keller, chief executive officer of Saint Thomas Hickman.  "The day means so much to our residents, patients and staff.  The visit creates and emotional spark in all of us and am sure a lift to the players as well.  Our residents prove to be cheerleaders!"

"It's always a blessing to see how happy the residents are when the Titans visit," said Renee' Whaley, director of nursing at Saint Thomas Hickman.  "It makes their day!"

Located in Centerville Tenn., Saint Thomas Hickman Nursing Home is a member of Saint Thomas Health and part of a comprehensive network of hospitals and affiliated ventures with an integrated ministry of helping people lead healthier lives, transforming their healthcare experience through trusted personal relationships and holistic, reverent care.  "Nothing shall be Impossible".

It's wonderful to watch how a group of Titans players can impact these residents and it is heartwarming to watch the exchanges. Today was not just another ordinary day at Saint Thomas Hickman Nursing Home.
