BILLS LIMITED TO 79 PASSING YARDS: The Titans defense limited the Bills offense to 79 net passing yards, the lowest total by a Titans opponent since the Dolphins had 78 total passing yards against the Titans on Oct. 8, 2017.
TITANS ALLOW 10 COMPLETIONS: The Titans defense allowed the Bills to complete only 10 passes on 20 attempts. The 10 completions made up the lowest total by a Titans opponent since the Browns completed eight passes on them on Sept. 20, 2015.
DEFENSE TOUGH IN THE RED ZONE: The Titans defense allowed the Bills one touchdown and 10 total points on three trips inside the 20-yard line. The Titans lead the NFL in 2018 (through the early afternoon games of Oct. 7) in defense in the red zone, allowing only 23.1 percent of such drives—three touchdowns in 13 possessions—to result in touchdowns.
BROWN RECORDS SACK: For the second consecutive week, second-year inside linebacker Jayon Brown recorded a sack. Against the Bills, he dropped quarterback Josh Allen for a three-yard loss in the third quarter. The play gave Brown 3.5 career sacks.
SECOND INTERCEPTION FOR JACKSON: Second-year cornerback Adoree' Jackson registered his second career interception and his second interception in a four-week span. In the final quarter, he intercepted a Josh Allen pass that was intended for wide receiver Andre Holmes. The turnover led to a field goal for the Titans.
LONG RETURN BY WILLIAMS: In the first quarter, Nick Williams fielded a punt by Corey Bojorquez and returned the ball 38 yards, setting a new career long. It was the longest punt return of the season by the Titans through five games.
SUCCOP MAKES FOUR FIELD GOALS: Ryan Succop made field goals from distances of 25, 54, 39 and 50 yards. It was his 11th career game with at least four field goals and his first such performance since making four field goals at Cleveland on Oct. 22, 2017.
MOST ACCURATE KICKER IN FRANCHISE HISTORY: With his 25-yard field goal in the first quarter, Ryan Succop reached 100 successful field goals with the Titans. In doing so, he hit the minimum number to qualify in the team record books for career accuracy. Succop, who added three more field goals later in the game, has made 103 of 118 field goal attempts since joining the team in 2014. His 87.3 percent success rate puts him in first place in franchise history, topping the previous record holder, Rob Bironas, who made 85.7 percent of his attempts with the Titans.
SUCCOP TIES CAREER LONG: As time expired in the first half, Ryan Succop booted a 54-yard field goal to match his career long. It was his longest field goal in a Titans uniform and the team's longest field goal since Rob Bironas made a 55-yarder against Houston on Dec. 29, 2013. It also tied for the seventh-longest field goal in franchise history. Succop matched the career-long 54-yarder he made as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 2, 2011.
TWO FIELD GOALS OF 50-PLUS YARDS: Ryan Succop's 54-yard field goal and 50-yard field goal gave him his second career game with multiple field goals of at least 50 yards. He previously accomplished the feat as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 2, 2011 against the Minnesota Vikings.
DAVIS LEADS IN RECEPTIONS AND RECEIVING YARDS: Second-year wide receiver Corey Davis led the Titans with four receptions and 49 receiving yards. He has led the team in receiving yards in every game in 2018, and he has led the squad or tied for the team lead in receptions in four out of five contests.
LEWIS STARTS FOR VACCARO: With Kenny Vaccaro inactive with an elbow injury, eighth-year veteran Kendrick Lewis filled in and notched his 82nd NFL start. It was Lewis' first start since 2015 as a member of the Baltimore Ravens.
WOODYARD OUT FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2013: Starting inside linebacker Wesley Woodyard was inactive with a shoulder injury, ending a streak of 77 consecutive games played. It was the fifth-longest active streak of its kind among NFL linebackers. Woodyard missed his first game since Oct. 20, 2013, during his final season with the Denver Broncos. He had appeared in every contest since joining the Titans as an unrestricted free agent in 2014.
INACTIVES: The Titans' inactive list included quarterback Austin Davis, safety Kenny Vaccaro, running back Dalyn Dawkins, linebacker Wesley Woodyard, guard Aaron Stinnie, tackle Dennis Kelly and defensive end Matt Dickerson. Vaccaro (elbow), Woodyard (shoulder) and Kelly (illness) were listed on the injury report prior to the contest.
