NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with second-round selection wide receiver Justin Hunter.
Hunter played three seasons at the University of Tennessee and totaled 106 receptions for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns. In his final season in Knoxville, he earned second-team All-SEC honors while registering 73 receptions for 1,083 yards and nine touchdowns.
Hunter's 73 receptions ranked second in school history for receptions in a season and his season yardage total was the third best season total.
The Titans placed a high grade on Hunter and were pleasantly surprised when he was still on the board at the end of the first round.
General manager Ruston Webster negotiated an aggressive trade with San Francisco to move from 40th to 34th overall in order to take Hunter with the second pick of the second round.
Hunter has shown potential since his arrival but his participation has been limited by a hamstring issue during the Titans' organized team activity practices. Titans coach Mike Munchak said Hunter is likely to be withheld from next week's minicamp so that he will be ready for next month's training camp.
