"Justin is a player who made the most of an opportunity and we expect him to be a significant contributor to our offensive success," said Titans General Manager Mike Reinfeldt. "He can play outside or inside, has the ability to make tough catches and should continue to grow as a receiver as he and Vince play together more."
In 2007, Gage's fifth NFL season and first with the Titans, he led the team with 750 receiving yards and tied Roydell Williams for first on the club with 55 receptions. Both of those totals represented new career highs, and he added two touchdown receptions to tie his career-best mark (2003 and 2005). He played in all 16 games and totaled eight starts.
Of Gage's 55 receptions in 2007, 45 of them – 81.8 percent – resulted in first downs. That was the third-highest percentage in the NFL among qualifying players (minimum 32 receptions), behind only Terrell Owens (85.2 percent) and Brandon Stokley (85.0).
Gage joined the Titans as an unrestricted free agent in March 2007. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Chicago Bears, who originally selected him in the fifth round (143rd overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft.
In 65 career games (24 starts), Gage has produced 119 receptions for 1,658 yards and six touchdowns.
