NASHVILLE – The Titans have agreed to terms with tight end Chig Okonkwo.
Okonkwo, selected in the fourth round (143rd overall) of the NFL Draft out of Maryland, becomes the seventh member of the team's draft class to reach a deal with the team.
Okonkwo started all 13 games for the Terrapins in 2021 and he finished second on the team with 52 receptions for 447 yards with a team-best five touchdowns. Okonkwo had the second most receptions by a tight end in program history in 2021 (Frank Wycheck, 58).
In 2021, he was All-Big Ten Honorable Mention and an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection.
Okonkwo totaled 77 career receptions for 717 yards and eight touchdowns in three seasons at Maryland.
Earlier, the Titans signed receiver Treylon Burks (first round), tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere (third round), running back Hassan Haskins (fourth round), receiver Kyle Philips (fifth round), defensive back Theo Jackson (sixth round) and linebacker Chance Campbell (sixth round) to rookie deals.
Cornerback Roger McCreary (2nd round) and quarterback Malik Willis (3rd round) remain unsigned.
