NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms today on a contract with free agent punter/kicker Ricky Schmitt.

Schmitt (6-3, 210) appeared in his first career NFL game in 2009, making his debut with the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 27 against the Detroit Lions.  He connected on two field goals in three attempts, added a pair of extra points and totaled five kickoffs.  However, he was added to injured reserve for the final week of the season due to a hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old Schmitt additionally has spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers and Oakland Raiders.  He entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Cardinals in 2007.

A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Schmitt attended Shepherd University (Shepherdstown, W.Va.), where he became the school's all-time leader in scoring (250 points), field goals (33) and extra points (151).

Also today, unrestricted free agent safety Sean Jones visited the Titans.
