Titans agree to terms with first-round pick Johnson

Running back Chris Johnson, the team's top draft pick out of East Carolina, is signed and expected to be on the practice field this afternoon at Baptist Sports Park.

NASHVILLE, TN, July 26, 2008 –** The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with running back Chris Johnson.
 
Johnson, the Titans first-round selection (24th overall), appeared in 47 games with 36 starts at East Carolina and collected 2,982 career rushing yards making him the third all-time leading rusher in school history.  He also finished as the Pirates' career leader in total touchdowns (44), kickoff return yards (2,715 – Conference USA record) and all-purpose yards (6,993 – third in conference history).  In total, Johnson set or tied 18 game, season and career records for ECU.  As a senior, his 227.7 all-purpose yards per game (109.5 rushing, 40.6 receiving, 77.6 kickoff returns) led the NCAA and set a new Conference USA record.  In 2007, he also recorded career highs with 1,423 rushing yards, 17 rushing touchdowns, 528 receiving yards, six touchdown receptions and 1,009 kickoff return yards.
 
Johnson is expected to be on the field for this afternoon's practice.
