NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** The Titans moved up to get Jack Conklin with the eighth overall pick in last month's NFL Draft.
The team also moved fast to get his deal done.
The Titans and Conklin agreed to terms on a contract on Monday morning. The Titans have now reached deals with eight of their 10 draft picks.
Conklin started 38 of 39 games while playing at Michigan State. He took part in the team's rookie minicamp earlier this month, and has been involved in the offseason workout program over the past few weeks. The Titans – veterans and rookies -- will be on the field for organized team activities on Tuesday.
At Conklin's introductory press conference the day after he was selected, Titans general manager Jon Robinson described Conklin as a perfect fit for the team.
"When coach (Mike) Mularkey and I set out three months ago, we talked about building a tough, team-first, accountable football team and we were able to add a player (in Jack) to this roster that embodies everything that Tennessee Titans football is going to be about,'' Robinson said. "He is an outstanding football player, and more importantly for us he is an outstanding young man. He is going to represent this football team, his family and the Tennessee Titans family and (make) the city of Nashville proud."

Conklin, a 6-foot-5, 308-pounder, started 35 games at left tackle in three seasons at Michigan State, and three games at right tackle.
The Titans worked Conklin on both sides of the offensive line during the rookie minicamp, but he's expected to line up at right tackle opposite Taylor Lewan this fall.
Titans coach Mike Mularkey gave Conklin positive reviews after the minicamp.
"A player of this caliber, that plays with the intensity he plays,'' Mularkey said the day after Conklin was selected. "I have been preaching it since I have been in coaching. … He is a football player, and you can see that. He loves the game; it is all ball. And that is going to be about here with this franchise. He is a good piece for this thing we are putting together."
A former walk-on at Michigan State, Conklin said he plans to work hard with the Titans to establish himself in the NFL, just like he did in college.
"Going in as a walk-on, I was at the bottom,'' he said. "That's the mentality I am going to take here. I am back at the bottom and I want to keep showing people what I can do and keep earning my way."
The Titans have now reached deals with eight of the team's 10 draft picks – Austin Johnson, Derrick Henry, Sebastian Tretola, Tajae Sharpe, LeShaun Sims, Aaron Wallace, Kalan Reed, and Conklin.
