Fourth-round pick Alterraun Verner (left) and sixth-round pick Myron Rolle (right) agreed to multi-year contracts on Tuesday. |
The Titans selected Verner in the fourth round (104th overall) of the draft. In a four-year career at UCLA, the Carson, Calif., native tied for seventh in school history with 13 interceptions, including four that he returned for touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 189-pound defender also contributed 272 career tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 42 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. As a senior in 2009, he earned third-team Associated Press All-American honors after recording five interceptions and 65 tackles in 12 games.
Rolle (6-2, 215) was selected with the Titans' second of two sixth-round draft choices (207th overall). He was among Florida State's top four tacklers in each of his three seasons with the Seminoles, accumulating career totals of 206 tackles, one sack, 7.5 tackles for loss, one interception, 13 passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He did not play in 2009, instead choosing to study in Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. As a junior in 2008, he was a third-team AP All-American with 62 tackles and five passes defensed in 13 games.
Verner and Rolle are the first two Titans draft picks to agree to terms. There are nine total members in the club's 2010 draft class.
