Fifth-round draft pick Robert Johnson, a safety out of Utah, has agreed to contract terms with the Tennessee Titans.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on multi-year contract with rookie safety Robert Johnson.

The Titans selected Johnson with their fifth-round pick (148th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Utah. In three seasons with the Utes after transferring from L.A. Southwest College, the 6-foot-2 inch safety played in 37 games with 31 starts and left the program ranked tied for fifth in school history with 13 career interceptions. He added 155 tackles, five tackles for loss, 26 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

As a senior, the Los Angeles, Calif., native was a first-team All-Mountain West Conference selection who started all 13 games at free safety and finished second in the conference in interceptions per game (0.46). His six interceptions as a senior tied for the third-most in a season by a Utah player.

The Titans now have agreed to terms with seven (Curran, Verner, Johnson, Smith, Rolle, Mariani and Howard) of their nine 2010 draft picks. The team opens training camp this Saturday, July 31st.

To make room on the roster for Johnson, rookie free agent wide receiver Mico McSwain was waived.
