NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans added two players to their active roster - WR Tre McBride from their practice squad and WR Andrew Turzilli from San Francisco's practice squad. The Titans placed CB Jason McCourty and WR Justin Hunter on injured reserve. Additionally, the Titans added OLB Yannik Cudjoe-Virgil and CB Shaquille Richardson to their practice squad and released OLB Markus Pierce-Brewster.
McBride (6-0, 210) was drafted by the Titans in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft and was added to the practice squad following training camp. He was a three-year starter at William & Mary, where he finished his career ranked second on the school's all-time reception list (196), fifth in receiving yards (2,653) and fifth in all-purpose yards (4,281). He earned first team all-conference honors in his final two seasons.
Turzilli (6-4, 195) originally signed with the Titans as a undrafted college free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft. He was injured during training camp and placed on injured reserve at final cuts. He agreed to an injury settlement with the team and joined the 49ers practice squad last month. Turzilli played three seasons at the University of Kansas before transferring to Rutgers for his senior seasons. For his college career, he posted 37 receptions for 838 yards and six touchdowns.
Cudjoe-Virgil (6-2, 248, pronounced YAHN-ik KOO-joe VER-jil) rejoins the Titans, where he originally signed as an undrafted free agent this past spring. He was injured in the first preseason game against Atlanta and was placed on injured reserve at final cuts. The team and player agreed to an injury settlement shortly after being placed on injured reserve and he is now eligible to re-sign with the team. In two seasons at the University of Maryland, he totaled 39 tackles, six tackles for loss, five sacks and one interception.
Richardson (6-0, 194) was a fifth-round selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014. He spent time on the practice squad with the Steelers in 2014 and was with the Arizona Cardinals during training camp this season. At the University of Arizona, he started 37 games and registered 10 interceptions, 189 tackles, 30 pass breakups, eight tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
