NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans have added tight end Jerome Cunningham and linebacker Brandon Chubb to the team's 90-man roster.
Those players take the place of tight end Phillip Supernaw and linebacker Nate Palmer on the roster. Supernaw was released on Tuesday, while Palmer was placed on Injured Reserve after suffering an injury in Monday's practice.
Cunningham previously spent time with the Titans during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He's also spent time with the Jets and Giants during his NFL career. He caught eight passes for 59 yards during the 2015 season with the Giants.
Chubb has spent time with the Rams, Lions and 49ers since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Wake Forest in 2016. He is the brother of Broncos defensive end Bradley Chubb.
Supernaw played with the Titans from 2015-17, and he appeared in 47 games over the past three seasons. He began training camp on the team's Physically Unable to Perform list, and was removed from the list last Friday. On Tuesday, however, the team made the decision to go in a different direction.
During training camp, Delanie Walker, Jonnu Smith and Luke Stocker have worked as the team's top three tight ends, and undrafted free agent Anthony Firkser (Harvard) has also impressed. Tight ends Tim Semisch, Ethan Wolf and Nick DeLuca are also in the competition.
Palmer was a key special teams player for the Titans in 2017 after playing three seasons with the Packers.
