NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans will kick off the 2017 preseason in the Big Apple.
The NFL released the preseason schedule for all 32 teams on Monday, and the Titans travel to take on the New York Jets in Week One.
The following weekend the Titans will play their home opener against the Carolina Panthers, the first of two straight games at Nissan Stadium.
In Week Three, the Chicago Bears travel to Nashville for a nationally televised game on FOX. The game will kick off at noon on Sunday, August 27.
The Titans wrap up the preseason at Arrowhead Stadium against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Exact dates and times for the other three preseason contests will be made available later this offseason.
The regular season schedule will be announced later this month.
The Titans are coming off a 9-7 season in 2016, a year when five players were named to the Pro Bowl.
The preseason opener against the Jets will come after two weeks of training camp practices for the Titans.
The Panthers, led by quarterback Cam Newton, are Tennessee's Week Two preseason opponent for the second year in a row.
The Bears, who signed former Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon last month, will visit Nissan Stadium for the first time since the 2012 regular season.
The preseason finale against the Chiefs, of course, will revive memories from a year ago, when kicker Ryan Succop booted a game-winning field goal from 53 yards as time expired in Tennessee's win. The temperature was 1-degree at kickoff – and minus-9 wind chill – that December day in Kansas City.
It should be a little bit warmer this trip.
