TEMPE, Ariz. —** The Titans just wrapped up practice on Wednesday at Arizona State University.

On Sunday, the team will face the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California.

Three quick hits:

Lewan update

Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan did not practice on Wednesday as the team began preparations for Sunday's game.

"(The plan) is to just get healthy and go play football on Sunday," Lewan said as he walked off the practice fields. "I am going to do something tomorrow. I just want to take care of it, and be smart. It was kind of one of those freak deals, spasms in the back.

"I got really lucky it wasn't worse."

Lewan played just 18 snaps before leaving Sunday's game against the Cardinals.  He was replaced in the lineup by Dennis Kelly.

Coach Mike Mularkey said he's hopeful Lewan will be able to practice on Thursday.

"We just want to be precautionary," coach Mike Mularkey said. "We think he'll go tomorrow."

Change of venue**

With palm trees and mountains in the background, the Titans practiced on the campus of Arizona State University on Wednesday.

"The mindset of this team is to get back on track," tight end Delanie Walker said. "We played an ugly game in Arizona on offense, and we need to get back on track."

The team made the decision to practice out West instead of returning to Nashville before the season started. The idea behind it focused on avoiding jetlag from back-to-back cross-country trips, and the chance to practice outdoors in good weather instead of potentially being forced into the indoor practice facility in Nashville.

"I think it is good," Mularkey said. "Obviously the weather is helpful, being on grass. There's a chance we were going to have to go in and be on turf possibly in Nashville, and I was worried about that. And saving that travel time has been a bonus.

"I think it's been good. We've gotten a lot of work done, and our guys can spend more time studying up on the opponent and they can spend some more time in the spa and using the hot tubs (at the hotel) and everything available for them to recover. It has been a good experience."

Injuries

Safety Johnathan Cyprien headed out to the practice field on Wednesday before suffering back spasms.

"We held him out," Mularkey said. "We'll see – it's day-to-day with him."

Tight end Phillip Supernaw (ankle) did not practice.

Linebacker Derrick Morgan was (knee) limited, but Mularkey said he did more than expected.
