NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans just wrapped up practice on Wednesday at Saint Thomas Sports Park.
On Sunday, the team will face the Denver Broncos at Nissan Stadium.
Three quick hits after today's practice:
Casey update
Titans defensive lineman Jurrell Casey did not practice today.
Casey suffered a sprained foot in the team's game against the Chicago Bears on November 27.
Casey said in the locker room he's confident about his chances of playing on Sunday, however.
"I am just letting the foot rest up and definitely going to take it day by day and let it heal and hopefully I am 100 percent to go,'' Casey said. "Even if I am not 100 percent I am definitely going to get out there.
"I think I can walk out there on Sunday and be effective. I don't feel I necessarily have to practice. Hopefully tomorrow or the next couple of days I can get out there and give it a run and everything will play itself out."
Cornerback update
Coach Mike Mularkey said not ready to name a starter opposite cornerback Jason McCourty.
Veterans Brice McCain and Valentino Blake are in the mix, along with rookies LeShaun Sims and Kalan Reed. Sims played against the Bears last week, and Reed was called up from the practice squad last week to replace Perrish Cox, who was released.
"He is doing good, and every rep is important for him out here,'' Mularkey said when asked about Sims. "We are getting a good look by our guys. But I'll probably make a decision more toward the end of the week."
Other injuries
Running back DeMarco Murray (foot) practiced on Wednesday and is making progress with an injury that slowed him in November. Murray missed Wednesday practices last month, but he wasn't on this week's injury report.
Safety Daimion Stafford (hamstring) and tight end Phillip Supernaw (concussion) missed the Chicago game, but both players practiced on Wednesday and are also on track to play this week.
