NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans just wrapped up practice on Wednesday at St. Thomas Sports Park, the first under interim head coach Mike Mularkey.
On Sunday, the team will face the Saints.
Three quick hits after today's practice…
**
Mariota on change, injury**
Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota said he's thankful for the opportunity he had under coach Ken Whisenhunt, but after practice acknowledged it's a "tough business" when discussing the team's coaching change.
Mularkey was named interim coach on Tuesday in place of Whisenhunt, who was relieved of his duties.
How will that impact Mariota and the offense?
"Right now it seems all the same to me, but it will depend on what the coaches want to do. I'll do my best to execute it,'' Mariota said.
"Coach Mularkey really set the tone this morning, and laid out what is expected of us. Moving forward, we are excited...We want to be a physical group and finish what is expected of us."
Mariota, who has missed the past two games with a knee injury, practiced on Wednesday. Mularkey said the team doesn't want to overwork him as he continues to work his way back, but Mariota was listed as a full participant on the team's Injury Report.
The expectation is Mariota will return to the starting lineup Sunday.
"It felt good today,'' Mariota said, "but it's going to be a collective decision throughout the week whether I'll be able to go."
**
Cox ready**
Cornerback Perrish Cox has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury, but he said he plans to return to action on Sunday.
"I am out there, I am out there,'' Cox said. "I am feeling good, feeling like I am 100 percent. When we get to the game I am going to open it up more. But today was quite good for my first time out there running."
Injury Update
Receiver Kendall Wright (knee), cornerback Jason McCourty (groin) and cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson (hamstring) all missed practice on Wednesday.
Mularkey confirmed Wright is dealing with a sprained MCL, but doesn't know how long he'll be out.
In addition to Cox and Mariota, receiver Harry Douglas (ribs) was listed as a full participant in today's practice.
