NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans defensive coordinator Dean Pees used to admire defensive lineman Jurrell Casey from afar.

Now he's seeing him up close, and he loves what he sees.

"Jurrell played his butt off (vs. Houston), and he plays his butt off every day in practice and every game," Pees said of Casey, who had two sacks against the Texans. "The guy never takes a play off. He was tired (on Sunday) – we played a lot of plays.

"I am impressed with him every day I come to work. He is such an ultimate pro."

Casey's two-sack game vs Houston was the ninth game of his career with two sacks.

Since the beginning of the 2013 campaign, when Casey recorded his first two-sack game in the season opener, no NFL defensive tackle has as many double-sack games as Casey. Casey retook the lead from the Carolina Panthers' Kawann Short, who recorded his eighth two-sack game in Week 1.

After Casey and Short, the defensive tackles with the most two-sack games from 2013–2018 are Aaron Donald, Akiem Hicks, Cameron Heyward, Geno Atkins and Marcell Dareus, all of whom own five such performances.

Taylor Lewan Update

Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan practiced for the second day in a row on Thursday.

Lewan was in uniform a day earlier for the first time since suffering a concussion in the season opener at Miami.

Vrabel said Lewan still has to get clearance from a medical standpoint before he's cleared from the concussion protocol. But he was listed as a full participant in Thursday's session after being listed as limited on the team's Injury Report on Wednesday.

"We'll find out here at 4:30," Vrabel said of Lewan's status. "He's supposed to see the doctor, an independent doctor. He was full today, which was a great sign. There's just another step that he has to take by seeing the outside doctor. It is out of our hands now, it is just up to that outside doctor."

Injury Report

Right tackle Jack Conklin (knee) was also limited again in Thursday's session.

"Jack is better," Vrabel said. "He took a few more reps today, so we'll see kind of where he's at. We'd love to have him be able to help us in some capacity in the game."

Running back Derrick Henry (back) was also limited for the second day in a row, along with quarterback Marcus Mariota (elbow), tight end Luke Stocker (calf), and safety Kendrick Lewis (calf).

Tackle Dennis Kelly (illness) and running back David Fluellen (groin) did not practice, and linebacker Kamalei Correa (back) was added to the Injury Report, and he also didn't practice.
