Flanked by his parents and Titans teammates Michael Griffin, Stanford Keglar and Alvin Pearman, Thornton shared words of inspiration and encouragement to the enthused East Nashville residents, hanging on to his every word. Now in his eighth NFL season, he has continued his tradition of service at Thanksgiving by hosting a meal giveaway in his hometown of Goldsboro, North Carolina as well. For a third year, the Thornton Family will be distributed 150 meals to needy families in Goldsboro. Thornton's father, whom one can easily see where David gets his drive to serve the less fortunate, also shared words, much to the welcoming of the packed house.

"My parents instilled in my brothers and me the importance of serving others," said Thornton. "Thanksgiving is a special time for families and as a family we want to do what we can to be a blessing to those in need."
