NASHVILLE, TN, Dec. 18, 2008 —On Tuesday, in continuance with spreading holiday cheer to the needy, linebacker David Thornton partnered with Genesco and hosted nearly 350 children at the Martha O'Bryan Center as part of the *Cold Feet, Warm Shoes event.

Held for youth and teens between the ages of four and 18 who are enrolled in programs at the Martha O'Bryan Center, the children were fitted with new shoes, socks, hats and winter wear.

Thornton was joined by teammates Vincent Fuller, Chris Hope, Stephen Tulloch and Fernando Velasco in helping the children try on shoes while taking pictures and signing autographs. Titans Cheerleaders Ally and Julia also came out to lend a hand.

Thornton was selected as the Titans 2008 Community Man of the Year for all of his community efforts.
"Each year, it is a privilege for me to partner with Genesco for Cold Feet, Warm Shoes," said Thornton. "The Martha O'Bryan Center holds a special place in my heart and it's truly a blessing for me to play a role in sharing the spirit of Christmas with the children served at the Center. This program is about more than shoes and hats; it's about showing love, respect and kindness to others."

Thornton first got involved with Cold Feet, Warm Shoes in 2005 while he was a member of the Indianapolis Colts. When he joined the Titans in 2006, he decided to host the event in a community he calls "rich with genuinely good people" to assist children who otherwise wouldn't receive many Christmas gifts. Thornton has held the event each year since he arrived in Tennessee in 2006.

In its 19 th year, Cold Feet, Warm Shoes is Genesco's signature community outreach event held every year in Nashville. Company volunteers set up a mock shoe store at the Center, then individually measured and fit each child with their choice of new shoes, providing the same individual service that they would find at any of Genesco's 2,225 retail stores across the United States. In addition, each child will get to choose a new, warm knit hat donated by the Company's Hat World division and a warm hooded sweatshirt donated by Converse. Children also received a 50's Faithful T-shirt which recognizes his foundation. Other donors participating in the event include: Etnies, Puma, Ecko/Ecko Red, Baby Phat, Uni Hosiery and Huffman Socks.
